![]() ![]() This game has an amazing two sides to every thing, but the people hating the game only push the parts that fit their narrative. I just noticed that the people >! who hated Abby putting a knife to Dina's throat, also completely skip over Ellie putting a knife to Lev's throat.!! people who hate that Ellie forgave Abby completely ignore that Abby let Ellie live twice!< The game also hits way harder in a second playthrough, be wise knowing where it ends helps you notice so much more. This will be talked about for years to come, and especially in classes teaching narrative structure, story-telling, etc. I also respect the hell out of Naughty Dog making a bold creative choice like that. ![]() ![]() I loved Abby by the end, and the second half of the game is my favourite. Seems we definitely have some visitors in here brigading.Įdit2 Absolutely love this guy. Some people are just Rattlers.Įdit Loooooooots of people proving my points in the comments below. But I also understand people love to hate and thrive off negativity, so I don't have high hopes. Catch things they missed, understand things they didn't, reevaluate themselves, their prejudices and the story, so that the game might win them over. I hope people who hated will be open to replaying it. Despite trying to review bomb the game and accusing all positive reviews of being shills, the game has succeeded in becoming one of the greats. That Joel was dead from the moment he walked through the gate, not that he said his name later.Īt the end of the day, the toxic, loudmouth minority, anti-SJW, hate subreddit r/thelastofus2 is a tiny insignificant fraction of the playerbase. In the end, people highlighted counters to their point and they accepted that they'd missed pieces.įor example, people screaming that Joel wouldn't walk into a room of strangers and say his name, while ignoring the fact Tommy introduced himself and Joel when they first encountered Abby. There are how many discussion threads on this game? I can't even count how many I've been through, and I've only seen TWO attempts at tackling why they thought the game was bad. Outside of the transphobic, homophobic, bigoted idiots that have attacked the game, the director and the actress behind the character and outside of the people who view Joel as a shrine of flawless perfection, the people who dislike the game scream that their opinion is as valid as those that like the game I agree* Especially to people who disliked the game but still wish they had loved it. I can't recommend this playthrough enough. Despite these characters inevitably dying to Ellie he sees them as people who meant something to Abby. He quickly sees her as a human being, and not a villain. Something so many people have completely failed to do, some even admitting that are unable or straight up refuse to. Most importantly, he dislikes playing as Abby when it occurs at the midway, but he learns to feels empathy for them. He views the world as shades of grey and the story as two sides of the same coin. He raises the appropriate questions regarding agency, morality, ethics, motivations and conflict as they arise. The emotion and core message of each scene has landed as intended. He's played the game privately, before release, without any outside influence on his opinion of the game and it shows. On the other hand, you have JackSepticEye, who I personally don't watch too often but really grew to respect through his playthrough so far. This is coming from someone who has been subbed since he had under 7k subs and has stuck around through all of his controversies. ![]() "Epilogue was useless and added nothing" Imagine the game without the final piece of the story. "The relationships were empty" What the fuck lmao Just taking a look at Felix's final thoughts on the game highlights how little he paid attention and just how immature he really is. It's also worth highlighting that people who have spent a decade shitting on Felix and his fanbase, are now heralding him as a beacon of integrity and truth over in the toxic hate subreddit r/thelastofus2. These people can't let people form their own opinions. Not only did he completely fail to understand the emotions of crucial moments in the game, he spent a huge portion of the game making cringey edgelord jokes and most cutscene time looking at the livestream chat.Ī chat that spent it's entire time spoiling and ruining the game for him. I really wanted Felix to enjoy TLOU2, and after watching his entire playthrough it's no surprise he didn't. ![]()
